| How to Select a Havana Cigar | ||
BY SIZE
The bouquet and flavour of a Havana cigar do not usually fully emerge until you reach the end of the first third or the beginning of the second. It is therefore important to select the length of your Havana cigar according to the time you have to enjoy it.

BY CALIBRE
As a general rule, larger calibre Havana cigars burn better and have a smoother flavour than slimmer cigars. The latter do not therefore have "light" leaves in their blend, so as to improve combustion.

BY TASTE
If you enjoy more than one Havana cigar a day, it is important they have a similar taste, or that their strength increases gradually. To enjoy your cigars, you should not smoke a mild Havana cigar after a stronger one.

BY APPEARANCE
The exterior appearance of a Havana cigar may make it more or less appealing. It is important the outer leaf has a silky, slightly shiny texture. The colour of the outer leaf may vary from dark to straw Carmelite (name used in Cuba for a light brown taken from the colour of the habits of Carmelite monks) depending on the ripening of the leaf. However, although the riper the leaf, the sweeter the taste, the flavour of a Havana cigar lies in the several leaves that make up its filling.
